World Marrow Donor Day 2018 celebrates the 200,000 marrow and cord blood donors on the Australian Bone Marrow Donor Registry.
More than 360 life-changing transplants a year are performed in Australia thanks to the generosity of our donors. To meet the changing needs of Australia’s population, we welcome more ethnically diverse donors, and ‘ideal’ donors (males under 30) to join the 30 million bone marrow donors registered worldwide.
World Marrow Donor Day is our way to recognise and show gratitude to all of those who are committed to helping patients with blood cancers and blood disorders both in Australia and overseas.
To all of our wonderful donors – thank you!
